    The Latin Mass Explained

Posted by Anthony D. on Jun 4th 2022

I loved this book. I've always preferred the Traditional Latin Mass. It was the Mass I grew up with, the Mass I served as an altar boy. The Mass of my First Communion, and Confirmation. I really thought that I knew the Mass, but the insights in this book opened my eyes even more. After reading this, I find it even more difficult to understand the Novus Ordo, and the recent attacks on the Latin Mass by the Pope and many Cardinals, Bishops and Priests. This should be required reading in every Seminary and Houses of Formation.

    Very Helpful

I actually did not order the book for myself. I grew up with the Latin Mass and attended until the changes in the Mass early 60's but again started attending the Latin Mass in the mid 70's. I now attend a Diocesan Latin Mass and many who attend are not familiar with what is happening. I saw this book for $5 in April and several ordered it and have found it very helpful. If it would be on sale for $5 again, I know some others that would like a copy.

    I haven't read the entire

I haven't read the entire book yet. It more focuses on why the Mass is the way it is (Catholic Mass vs. Protestant Service) instead of Post Vatican II Mass vs. Traditional Latin Mass. It isn't a bad book; it just wasn't what I was expecting.
