“The Holy Bible is like a mirror before our mind’s eye. In it we see our inner face. From the Scriptures we can learn our spiritual deformities and beauties. And there too we discover the progress we are making and how far we are from perfection.”
—Saint Gregory the Great

The words spoken by Jesus
The words spoken by Jesus printed in red ink reminds the reader the true significance of what was read. I believe the word of God is relevant more so than ever to be translated from ancient text. I so love my edition I gave a copy to my grandson, and I will use this written word of God in my teaching. I will cherish this copy for all times.

Douay-Rheims Bible
It is a very nice, beautiful Bible. However, not what I was looking for. Due to my eyesight, having the words of Jesus in red is hard for me to read. This should have been in the description on the web page where it was sold. Also, the version of the Douay-Rheims was not clearly noted, and I was looking for a more modern version. I don't find the "thee's and thou's" necessary or helpful.

True Bible
Love this Bible. The pages are thin, which is what I like in a Bible. Love this version. I was looking for one that hasn’t changed words here and there. I would definitely recommend this Bible over any other.

I got this Douay-Rheims Bible
I got this Douay-Rheims Bible for myself and couldn't be happier with this edition. The cover is beautiful, as are the illustrations and maps. The print is clear and easy to read, and it's nice having Jesus's words printed in red. It's a great Bible and well worth having to read and enjoy. It's also one I'll consider purchasing again to gift when the occasion arises.

This is a beautiful Bible.
This is a beautiful Bible. I started using it in 8th grade in my class. My old copy is worn and not as nice as this new leather one. I bought this one for our family. I also bought one for my son who is a priest and did not have this version of the Catholic Bible. He said he loves this handsome version.

A Bible to foster a mature and pure faith
The language is harder than other translations but I can make out what is being said. The Lord's words are in red and so my eyes are more drawn to them. The Gospels are reverently named St. Matthew, St. Mark, etc. The footnotes support Catholic teaching. It is a Bible to foster a mature and pure faith. John Senior, in "The Thousand Good Books," recommends the Douay-Rheims Bible to Catholics: "Since spiritual mysteries can only be communicated through poetry, whatever more modern versions may gain in accuracy is nothing compared to what is lost."
