a constant companion
When I was 13 years of age, my mother had a copy of this version of Scripture that had belonged to her father. I was the first version of the scriptures that I read and it was the version used in the proclamation of the Word used in the Liturgy of the Mass at that time. The style, language and manner of presentation has great memory and meaning to me and I delight in reading and praying the same. This is very good reprinting of the Scripture of my childhood and is, perhaps, the best and truest translation of the Vulgate to date.
