Why Catholics Cannot be Masons
A decent explanation about the objections of the Catholic Church to Freemasonry, but not enough to convince someone leave the Masons. It could use more historical background, mention of the Alta Vendita, and more on how it weakens a person's spiritual life.

Why Catholics Cannot Be Masons
Easy to read and very clearly written. Uncovers the deceptions that are presented with in Freemasons and also refers directly to the Bible in many places throughout the book. Brings up Pope Leo the XIII and Pope Gregory XVI 's points on the matter such as the "Indifferentism" and the Church. I have read other books on this matter and if you just want a clear simple less than 100 pages to give you the basics of this that is clear and backed up by good reasoning this is the book for you. If you are looking for a more in depth book on Free masons and the Catholic church I would still read this 1st as it gave me a really good basic understanding before reading a much deeper more involved book. I plan to buy more of these books because all my extra copies have been given away at this time and I want to have them to give to people that it could really help.

I have read this book cover to cover more than once. It is an easy read with all the information that you would want to know about this topic, to include a glossary and notes citing all of his sources. If you are Catholic or know someone who is and belongs to a Masonic organization you must get this book for them. I can tell you that after spending many years in a Masonic organization I had know idea what the Catholic Church taught on this topic. However, if I had taken the time to do just a little research I would have known better. When I would ask Masons who were Catholic about being a member of the Masons and being Catholic and how do you reconcile that membership with the Church I would almost always get a vague answer about that was a long time ago everything is fine you can be a member. That could not be further from the truth as you will learn from this book! John Salza is the real deal and he knows this issue inside and out because he was a 32nd degree Mason and and now brings this information to all of us. Here is a quote from then Cardinal Ratzinger on 26 November 1983. "Therefore the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic association remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful who enrol in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion."
