The Church is enduring one of the worst crises in her history. There has been a collapse in the number of laity, clergy, and religious participating in the Catholic faith. According to the Index of Leading Catholic Indicators: The Church Since Vatican II, approximately 460 million Catholics have left the Faith since Vatican II. Not only is there a crisis in participation, there are a plethora of surveys which reveal the extent of heterodox teachings in the modern United States Church.

Despite this rapid decline in Catholic demographics, there is hope. A recent study conducted by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter found that while Novus Ordo (that is, the 1969 Mass of Pope Paul VI) parishes have been shrinking, parishes that offer the Latin Mass have been growing. Another study conducted by Dr. Joseph Shaw found that the average traditional parish has larger family sizes, younger attendees, and higher male attendance. What is the explanation for this?

In Ever Ancient, Ever New, millennials enthralled with the traditional devotions of our Faith which have been left largely abandoned since Vatican II explain this phenomenon. These authors include Alexander Tschugguel, Stephanie Nicholas, as well as Timothy and Stephanie Gordon.
Ever Ancient, Ever New offers the path forward for the Church’s future: her past.

    Fabulous book! I loved it.

Fabulous book! I loved it. FINALLY, someone is pointing out the "elephant in the middle of the room" (the downside of the Novus Ordo Mass). The authors aren't afraid to tell the truth about the "Emperor's New Clothes" (liberal type liturgies). And the beauty that these young people see in the Traditional Mass and the Traditional Church really touches my heart. I will definitely be purchasing copies of this one for our church book stand.

It's a series of essays from younger people explaining why they are drawn to the Traditional Latin Mass. It's very compelling.

    The change from the Traditional

Posted by Joan M. on May 19th 2022

The change from the Traditional Latin Mass to the Mass we have now happened when I graduated from school in the sixties. It was difficult to accept the Novus Ordo Mass. I compared it to reading Cliff Notes instead of the novel assigned. I remember my pastor who was in his fifties at the time found the changes extremely hard to get started. The Mass lost it's reverence, moments of silence and so many beautiful prayers which had enabled everyone to focus on the sacrifice taking place. These chapters here written by different people, teach about the changes and explain to young readers what had once been and what they miss today.

I thought this would be an honest review; but it is anti Novus Ordo and Vatican II

    Must read!

This book opened my eyes to the beauty of the Traditional Latin Mass-the Church's Sacred Liturgy. It is so refreshing to reads stories from young Catholics who live their Faith so boldly, who have held onto the traditions passed down to them.
