This is the greatest book on humility ever written and will likely be the best book you will read in the next 5 years (outside of Holy Scripture). If everyone in the United States would adhere to the advice in this book, we would convert the world.

"In Paradise there are many Saints who never gave alms on earth: their poverty justified them. There are many Saints who never mortified their bodies by fasting or wearing hair shirts: their bodily infirmities excused them. There are many Saints too who were not virgins: their vocation was otherwise. But in Paradise there is no Saint who was not humble."

- "Humility generates confidence, and God never refuses His grace to those who come to Him with humility and trust." (Page 93).
From every direction, he marshals up the reasons why this virtue is paramount in the lives of all Saints and of all those on the way of perfection. As no one will enter Heaven who is not perfect and as no one will gain perfection who is not humble, it behooves us all to apprise ourselves of the requisites for gaining true humility of heart, for once possessing this virtue, we can then make great strides in the spiritual life. But without it, we are simply deceiving ourselves regarding our spiritual progress and postponing the great work of our own salvation.

A very important part if
A very important part if my spiritual journey, I continue to look for true humility and the guidance received from this book is key. This version is easy to understand.

Maybe this book was for those more advanced in their faith
Disappointed. I didn’t get that much out it. I was hoping for some clarification between humility, a good self-image and self-confidence. Book did not cover what sins of pride are mortal and venial.

Can’t stop reading
I’m on my third time through this book. Powerful, heart-changing, good meditation reading for Adoration. Perfect size to keep in a purse. Like many TAN books, must read multiple times to absorb different layers.

Of all the books I have ordered, read and re-read in past years, this is one of the most meaningful and helpful. It is filled with short, but deep reflections (examinations of conscience of a sort) to invoke the development of sincere humility. I learn each time I read a selection.

Much more than I expected!
I purchased Humility of Heart e-book as part of my Lenten readings this year. At first it seemed a bit heavy to me but the more I read, It went deep into my soul like no other book has. I am actually rereading it right now, a few sections a day. I recently purchased a hard copy for my sister, who like me, is struck with its deep, rich look at one's own soul. It's a beautiful book for meditation and the Holy Spirit is truly alive within it.
